I really love working in the abstract, but most of my work is fairly composed, constrained. Tonight I finished some work on a piece I already have going, and rather than clean up I grabbed a fresh canvas and just started putting paint on it. The palette developed organically, with some thought to contrast and movement, but mostly just covering the canvas and adding whatever it seemed to need.
I actually love it.
