Bleeding Out
Bleeding Out, acrylic on canvas 16x20"

Continuing my "squares" series  - few of which are squares - Bleeding Out embraces a grayscale palette mixed from Ivory Black, Titanium White, and water. Paint is applied as a blend, a wash, straight from the jar, blended and then applied as a wash. Even with a few constraints the variations can feel unlimited.

"Squares" is about constraint, containment, inclusion and exclusion, holding and releasing, encasing and escaping. Bleeding Out shows that what we hold most precious, we can end up losing, and wondering if we can live without it.
